"Pavilions of Promise" is a two-volume book series covering the expansive realm of the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. This project was a collaboration with the entire class in Typographic Systems I, each of us were assigned a position as if we were in a marketing firm. I acted as one of the project managers and oversaw all aspects of the project. l designed the covers with the rest of the series in mind, mimicking the formatting of covers during that time period and pulling in the outline of the iconic ferris wheel. The first volume in the series showcases imagery of the 3D printed diorama my classmates created—a pop-up map of the fair grounds. The second volume contains our research and a creative exploration of the fair’s history and impact.
